課程概述

Cognitive control supports flexible behaviour and permits selection of actions that are consistent with our goals and context. The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is a central component in the neural network of brain regions supporting abstract, higher-order control. Research on the functional organisation of the PFC promises to contribute our understanding of the architecture of control functions. In this course, we will discuss the relationships between the PFC functions and cognitive control and we will review recent findings for control hierarchy including domain generality in working memory, relational complexity, the temporal organisation of behaviour and abstract representational hierarchy. 

課程目標
The goal of this course aims to understand the underlying architecture of cognitive control functions in context of broader functional and neuroanatomical organising principles.
